We’ve had this speculum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. It is easy to clean and well made, no sharp bits and hasn’t broken. After insertion (use lube) I recommend opening it to the desired width with the handles and then screw it in place with the nut to hold open. It is easy to use vaginally with a partner or alone, I advise having a partner to help with anal insertion at first though. Get comfortable and in a stable position (lying down is best at first) and you should be fine. Take care when pulling it out or you might overstretch or pinch yourself (not nice but hasn’t caused any injury to us) – loosen the nut and let the speculum relax gently until it feels narrow enough to pull out. This was a good introduction to speculum play – it opens you up quite wide if you’d like that, you have a brilliant level of control over the width of the prongs thanks to the nut so you can go at your own pace. Open it wide enough and you can see right inside your partner with the aid of a light or by yourself with a mirror.
