It’s definitely NOT “silent” – particularly when you start it up without your Johnson in it (the instructions say not to), but once you insert yourself and it starts going to town on you, it’s pretty darn quiet! It gets louder if you turn it up, but I’m not sure that’s a shock to most of us.

The key is how you use it. Use it correctly and it’s THE BEST. I cut a 1 inch slit at the uppermost part of the bottom of the sleeve. This makes it possible to start by being soft and then when erect you can fully use it. So intense!!

The Arcwave Ion is a male masturbator is like no other and consists of two parts:
• the plastic motor housing the pressure wave chamber containing the buttons and controls; and
• an open-ended sleeve comprising a ribbed, stretchy, silicone canal in which the user inserts their penis.
Unlike conventional male vibratory masturbators / strokers, the Ion uses 8 intensity patterns of pulsating waves of air to stimulate the sensitive frenulum on the underside of the penis’s head once it has been inserted into the textured sleeve.

Although the plastic motor housing of the Ion can be submerged in water I decided to use a damp cloth before I lightly dried it. To aid the drying process, the canal of the sleeve is stored inside a cylinder containing a re-usable DryTech Stick (a silica stick). Once the Ion is placed inside the charging/storage unit, the silica stick removes any remaining moisture during charging and/or storage.
I like the battery level indicator feature that shows you when it’s ready for your next use.

On first impressions, this product looks really good and seems high quality! It even comes with its own travel pouch! The design is simple and easy to use, with only 3 buttons. It still takes a bit of getting used to when switching between modes and autopilot, but once you’ve mastered it, it’s a lot of fun!
When it comes to using the masturbator, there’s an autopilot mode, which has 3 different modes or there are 8 different intensity levels to choose from outside of autopilot mode! The length of the canal and the position of the pleasure air sensor should be good enough for most people, however if you’re on the shorter end then it may be an issue if the frenulum can’t reach the sensor. It’s not much of an issue though, as it’s very easy to turn off the automatic mode.

The Ion 2 arrived in the normal brown discreet package in a couple of days.
Unboxing revealed a really sturdy and premium looking package. The Ion 2 was well packed inside and includes the sub c charging cable and a nice neoprene zipper soft storage case. There is also a handy quick start guide on the inner box.
I gave it a couple of hours to charge and then started to familiarise myself with it.
The controls are a bit confusing until you get your head round it. When in smart mode you can’t get it to switch on until you have inserted your self into it.
The sleeve your penis goes in is very soft premium silicon material.
Size wise the sleeve is about 100mm long and 33mm in diameter. The material is stretchy enough to accommodate much bigger girths. I am just over 125mm long and 40mm diameter (toilet roll tube size) and it fits really well.
The sleeve is fairly stretchy but you won’t be able to slide in without lube.
There is an oval hole in the tube which would be lined up with your frenulum. I’m not circumcised I retracted my foreskin. Lubed the sleeve and slid in so my frenulum was covering the oval hole.
I got the Ion running in suction mode. That felt really nice. I can’t explain the sensation but it’s like nothing I’ve experienced before. Enormous pleasure without any stroking motion was completely different. The Ion made me want to pulse / spasm my penis which I started to do. I have been experimenting with alternate forms of masturbation for the past ~2 years. As such, I’ve had my eye on the original Arcwave Ion for a long time. I always wondered how different this is to using a clitoral suction device. I can now enthusiastically report that the Arcwave Ion provides a radically unique experience, which is difficult to compare to other devices. When placed just over the frenulum, and fully relaxing through the pelvic floor, you feel a building intensity in your pelvis/lower abdomen. They key is to remain patient – think of how a woman would use a clitoral device!
It can take some adjustment to find the correct spot, but once it there it works best with smaller circles in the area of the frenulum.
